Upcoming Film: I Bet On Air And Lost It All
In 1985, Charlotte, North Carolina, Slim Bouler, a self-described country boy and local native, is at the peak of his success, enjoying life to the fullest. A slick young African American golf hustler with humble beginnings, he has wagered his way into a life of luxury, showcasing exceptional skills on the green and remarkable nerve. He crosses paths with a renowned high-stakes gambler who shares his passion for competition and gambling, leading to a strong bond between them. However, Slim's fortunes take a dark turn when federal agents begin investigating him, falsely portraying him as a drug kingpin due to his lavish lifestyle. Although he is acquitted of the drug charges, he is wrongfully convicted on another fabricated charge. As a result, he loses all his wealth and is sentenced to prison for refusing to take a plea deal and betray the "big fish" (the famous high-stakes gambler). His journey from rags to riches, followed by a dramatic fall from grace, resembles a rollercoaster ride, taking him from an outhouse to a penthouse, and ultimately to the big house.
